“Paradise Hills” Movie Trailer: A female-centric fantasy drama

The movie trailer of Director Alice Waddington’s feature film debut “Paradise Hills” is just dropped, and it looks great. The fact that a woman filmmaker brings in that many numbers of female characters in a strong woman-centric topic, makes it even more appealing.

What we have learned from the trailer is that “Paradise Hills” is a luxury residence, located in the middle of the ocean, where wealthy families send their daughters to be trained, educated and purified to be perfect women.

The film follows Uma (Emma Roberts), who is sent there starts wondering about other girls, their past and the reason that brought them to this fairytale-like yet strange place. She soon starts discovering more about a dark secret the residence trying to hide for long.

Well, going by the societal pressure and expectation of family on girls or women, it even becomes more important to talk about gender equality and women empowerment. With this storyline, if this film has some larger message, it is indeed a good idea.

The film also stars Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) among others in prominent roles.
“Paradise Hills” will be in cinemas throughout Spain and the United States on November 01, 2019. Share on X
