The trailer looks amazing with the signature style of Scorsese, and it reminds us of the 1990’s crime drama “Goodfellas”. Also, the use of digital effects (VFX) to de-age the actors to a postwar period and then at multiple timelines, makes the shots even more authentic, as if they were shot years back.

De Niro plays Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, a World War II veteran, and labor union leader who later got in touch with members of organized crime and became a hitman. As per several reports, he had links to the Bufalino crime family and was later involved in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa (in the film played by Al Pacino), another mob-connected labor union activist.

Hoffa was involved in several cases of organized crime and Frank worked for Hoffa in eliminating several people in their business. Author Charles Brandt in his book claims that Frank confessed to assassinating Hoffa.
