BBC One’s period drama Taboo, which premiered on 7th January (UK), is a period drama created by Steven Knight and Tom Hardy. Set in early 19th century England, this new drama series has Mad Max: Fury Road actor Tom Hardy, playing an adventurer who wants justice after the death of his father.
Interestingly, the story has been co-written by Hardy along with his father Chips Hardy, and screenwriter Steven Knight (Closed Circuit, Peaky Blinders, Dirty Pretty Things, and Eastern Promises).
Taboo has also been executive produced by Tom Hardy and the well-known director Ridley Scott, while the series has been directed by two different directors: Dane Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing) and Anders Engstrom (Jordskott).
Season 1 received favorable reviews with critics lauding its performance of Hardy. However, there is no clarity on season 2 of the show, as the filming of season 2 got delayed at some point because of the script.
So far, there is nothing official yet on the season 2 release date. However, we may expect its premiere somewhere around late 2020 or early 2021.
