Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in Prime Video’s Tomb Raider

Prime Video has officially unveiled the first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, marking a major milestone in the development of its highly anticipated Tomb Raider television series. With production now underway, the reveal offers fans an exciting glimpse at a bold new era for the iconic adventurer.

The image showcases Turner in Lara Croft’s classic look — a green tank top, black shorts, and confident, battle-ready posture — signaling a return to the character’s roots while reintroducing her for a new generation. Known globally for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, Turner steps into one of pop culture’s most legendary action roles.

The series is created, written, and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), promising a sharp, character-driven take on the long-running franchise. According to Prime Video, the show will blend high-stakes adventure with emotional depth, expanding the Tomb Raider universe beyond what fans have seen in previous film adaptations.

This new Tomb Raider series is part of Amazon MGM Studios’ broader effort to build interconnected storytelling across film and television, with Lara Croft once again positioned as a defining action hero.

No release date has been announced yet, but with production officially in motion and the first look now revealed, anticipation is quickly building.
