One of India’s ace filmmakers Ram Gopal Varma, better known as RGV, is back to Hindi cinema with his latest offering Veerappan. The trailer of the film is out lately and has so far received a great response. As the name is well known in this part of the world, the film revolves around one of the most wanted criminals that Independent India ever had.
The trailer of Veerappan shows some stats with sheer brutality that promises thrill and horror that you can experience with its release on May 27, 2016. The notorious Indian bandit and sandalwood smuggler in the Karnataka district, who killed 97 policemen, 184 civilians, and 900 elephants, generates enough interest for everyone to catch the action on the big screen.

As the trailer rightly points out, it took almost 20 years for the Govt. of India to kill Veerappan. This film is a Hindi remake of RGV’s Kannada directorial debut “Killing Veerappan” which was released on January 1, 2016. Going by the Kannada language film and the recently released Hindi trailer, we can expect some deep insight into the planning of Operation Cocoon (Oct 18, 2004).
The cinematography looks really gripping and it’s reported that RGV has shot in some real locations. Debutant Sandeep Bhardwaj who plays the title character has delivered a spine-chilling performance in the Kannada version and so you can expect the same here.
