‘Jigra’ Trailer Unveiled: Alia Bhatt's Emotional Rollercoaster

The teaser-trailer for Alia Bhatt’s highly anticipated film Jigra has recently been released, and it delivers a powerful emotional punch. Alia Bhatt stars in this gripping film, which explores themes of love, survival, and familial bonds.

Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala, is scheduled to open in theaters on October 11. Alia Bhatt’s second feature, co-produced with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, follows the success of her 2022 Netflix film Darlings.

The trailer begins with Alia Bhatt telling her tragic story in a heartfelt voice-over: “Ma ko bhagwan le gaye. Papa ne jaan le li. Dur ki rishtedar ne panah di, bhari kiraya wasool kiya. Choro, Bhatiya saab. “Kahaani bohat lambi hai, bhai ke paas waqt bohot kam.” (God took our mother. Father ended his own life. Distant relatives provided us a shelter but charged a heavy rent. Leave it, Bhatiya saab. The story is long, and my brother has little time.) Her tearful delivery sets a dismal tone for what follows. (Scroll down to watch the trailer.)

The trailer then turns to violent, action-packed moments in which Alia wields an axe and other deadly weapons. Vedang Raina, who plays her brother, is also shown handcuffed, which adds to the film’s tense atmosphere. Manoj Pahwa tells Alia, “Bachchan nehi ban na. “Don’t try to be like Bachchan.” Learn to escape), to which Alia defiantly responds, “Ab toh Bachchan hi ban na hai” (I will become a Bachchan).
