Directed by Prasanth Varma, KALKI is an upcoming Telugu movie starring Rajashekar and Adah Sharma in key roles. The teaser of the film suggests that it’s going to be an action thriller in which the story is set in the 80s.
Just to make it clear here is that I am not well-versed with South Indian movies, so don’t know much about all the popular actors. Nevertheless, as I’ve learned – the key character played by Rajasekhar is a veteran actor in the Telugu film industry.
The teaser of KALKI doesn’t give away anything as it only shows some key shots from the film, but without any dialogue. Nevertheless, the visuals and the overhead shots suggest an interesting storyline.
The teaser of the film is probably one of the finest ones made recently in the Indian film industry (including Bollywood). Let’s first watch the movie teaser of KALKI that is set for a May 17 release.

Director Prasanth Varma of AWE (2018 Telugu psychological thriller) fame has come up with this story from Sai Teja. As far as the details available in local publications, the film is based on true incidents that happened in the 1980s.
Few news outlets are referring to two different incidents that happened in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. In one incident a freshwater lake was poisoned by a few people to kill three big families; in another incident, a few people from a community were hacked to death as they were involved in the harassment of women of another community.
To be honest, we don’t have much clue about the storyline. The fact that the film is an investigative thriller in which actor Rajasekhar plays a cop, we can guess that probably the said incidents or any similar cases with respect to class/caste conflict might be in the subject line.
