Filmmaker Pavan Kripalani’s ‘Phobia’ seems to be an interesting psychological thriller. The film, as the name suggests, revolves around some kind of phobia or the fear of something, at least this is what we can sense from the trailer and teasers released recently.
Radhika Apte, known for her critically applauded off-beat films (such as ‘Badlapur’, ‘Manjhi – The Mountain Man,’ and then the short film ‘Ahalya’), is playing the central character Mehak, an artist by profession, whose life takes an u-turn after she accidentally doses off in a taxi one evening.
‘Phobia’ is co-produced by Eros International and NextGen Films. As stated on various media platforms, prior to filming, Apte learned more about the medical conditions from the doctors as well as from books. The actress explained that first-hand information helped her in gaining a deeper understanding of the extreme and irrational fear of simple things or social situations.

The subject line is not revealed yet, and a few teasers released earlier are only for promotional purposes. Nevertheless, it seems to be an edgy thriller that is missing from Bollywood for a long time.
What’s Your Phobia? #1
The above trailer shows Apte reciting the famous nursery rhyme ‘Little Miss Muffet’. Fear of spiders is known as Arachnophobia.
Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came a spider
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.
What’s Your Phobia? #2
The second teaser shows aerophobia – an abnormal and persistent fear of flying. Many people have this kind of fear while being on an airline. In the teaser, you can see Radhika Apte getting anxious as the flight prepares to take off.
What’s Your Phobia? #3
The third teaser shows the fear of going on a blind date. How about meeting someone after an online friendship? Is not online dating a little scary? How about meeting someone in a public place? What if he spikes your drink? What if things go wrong? Also, you’re going on a date without letting anyone know as this is your secret. This is what fear of the unknown is.
What’s Your Phobia? #4
The 4th teaser shows the fear of germs, termed as Mysophobia or Germophobia.
