Predator: Badlands – A Fresh Hunt in Sci-Fi’s Fiercest Franchise

The Predator franchise returns to the big screen in 2025 with “Predator: Badlands,” directed by Dan Trachtenberg (of “Prey” fame). This bold new entry shifts the spotlight from human prey to an unlikely Yautja protagonist, delivering a fiercely original direction for the long-standing sci-fi action series.

Backed by standout performances, especially Elle Fanning in a dual role, and jaw-dropping new lore, “Predator: Badlands” promises both longtime fans and newcomers a thrilling, emotional, and visually dynamic journey.

Movie Synopsis

On the harsh and perilous alien world of Genna, Dek—a young Yautja (Predator) outcast for showing mercy—must prove his worth after his own clan, led by his fearsome father, exiles him. Stripped of honor and weapons, Dek’s journey for redemption intertwines with Thia, a resourceful Weyland-Yutani android (portrayed by Elle Fanning) searching for her missing twin and stolen limbs. Together, they navigate Genna’s lethal flora and fauna, evading rival Predators and ruthless human corporations bent on exploiting alien life. Dek’s ultimate test is a showdown with the Kalisk, a monstrous hybrid creation spawned from human greed—forcing him to become more than just a hunter, but a hero in his own right.
