“The Man from Rome,” also known as La piel del tambor, is a 2022 thriller film directed by Sergio Dow and based on the book by Arturo Pérez Reverte. Starring in it are Paul Guilfoyle, Franco Nero, Fionnula Flanagan, Amaia Salamanca, Richard Armitage, and Richard Armitage.
The film follows Father Quart (Richard Armitage), a Vatican intelligence agent, who looks into a letter given to the pope anonymously about a crumbling 17th-century Spanish church in the heart of Seville that “kills to defend itself.” Father Quart’s allegiance and faith are put to the test when a deep conspiracy comes into play.
