Popular Japanese writer and director Miike Takashi, known for his unique imagination and visualization, has partnered with the Disney Plus platform to stream his latest South Korean show, Connect (커넥트).
While the Korean language 6-part series Connect (커넥트) was recently screened at the Busan International Film Festival, it is set to debut on Disney+ in December 2022. The exact release date is yet to be announced.
Based on a Korean webtoon by Shin Dae-sung
Adapted from the webtoon “Connect” by Shin Dae Sung, Connect tells a mysterious story that occurs when Dong-soo (Jung Haein) who has been deprived of an eye by organ hunters connects with a person who has received his organ transplant.
The original story creates a unique setting with the main character’s super regeneration ability, brutal organ hunters, an unidentified serial killer, and the connection of different people’s body senses that sounds too sensational to be true, and there is no better director to bring it to life than Miike Takashi.
Takashi is well-known for his horrific aggression against the human body; we may expect more, however, the teaser below reveals far too little. Connect stars Jung Haein, Ko Kyungpyo, and Kim Hyejun.
