‘Thama’: First Look at Maddock’s Horror-Comedy

Exciting news for movie buffs! Maddock Films has finally released the first teaser of their upcoming horror-comedy, Thama. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana (playing Thama, a man-turned-vampire), Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, and others, and is set to release in cinemas this Diwali (October 20, 2025).

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, it’s the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, promising a “bloody love story” with a supernatural twist.

The teaser reunites the stars of blockbuster movies such as Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya, hinting at anticipation of a new villain who will redefine the presentation of horror or fear in Indian cinema. The story suggests an epic showdown, with Ayushmann’s vampire pitted against Varun Dhawan’s werewolf in a universe-shattering tale of love, horror, and comedy.

“Thama” is generating high expectations due to its blend of horror, supernatural elements, and comedy—the hallmarks of the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe.

The movie promises a genre-defying experience—a love story that’s “wilder and deadlier” than past Maddock successes Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. There’s a solid supernatural core, with scares blended with offbeat, culture-driven humor.

Ayushmann’s ability to thread humor, quirk, and depth into performances hints at a turn that’ll ground the supernatural plot, while Rashmika’s range of emotions will bring heft to the romance. Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as experienced actors, will likely provide nuance and edge to lead roles.
