‘Father Of The Milky Way Railroad’

Based on novel “Ginga Tetsudo no Chichi” by Yoshinobu Kadoi, the upcoming Japanese drama “Father Of The Milky Way Railroad” follows Masajiro Miyazawa, the owner of a pawn shop, is faced with the dilemma of who should inherit his business after his son Kenji refuses to take over. While his daughter Toshi offers valuable advice, she falls ill, leaving Masajiro to confront the consequences of his indecision.

Synopsis

For generations, Masajiro Miyazawa (played by Koji Yakusho) has owned and operated a pawn shop. He has two children: Kenji Miyazawa (played by Masaki Suda), his first son who is expected to take over the family business, and Toshi Miyazawa (played by Nana Mori), his daughter. However, Kenji refuses to take over the pawn shop and instead pursues his own interests after graduating from school, including agriculture, artificial jewelry, and religion. Despite this, Masajiro is lenient with his son. Toshi, on the other hand, is intelligent and astute.
