A new Netflix psychological thriller ‘The Stranger’, starring Jennifer Saunders and Richard Armitage, is slated for January 31 release. The story of this eight-part series is based on Harlan Coben’s international bestseller of the same name that promises a gripping watch.
‘The Stranger’ follows Adam Price (Armitage), a complete family man – a husband and a father-of-two, who happens to meet a woman in a bar who calls herself the stranger. As she approaches him revealing secrets and unknown facts about Adam’s wife Corinne, his life is about to take a turn.
Let’s watch the official trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Stranger’
The trailer proposes in the beginning that “What if our darkest secrets were exposed by a stranger?” In a few clips, we are introduced with a happy family but then in moments, the man of the family encounters a lady who shares with him some weird secrets about his wife Corinne:
“You didn’t have to stay with her, you know,” the Stranger says.
Adam asks: “Do I know you?”
The Stranger replies: “She told you she was pregnant and then she lost the baby. She made it up, she was never pregnant.”
From here on we see Adam confronts Corinne asking if she faked her pregnancy. However, she tries to tell Adam that this is not what he thinks and there is more to this.
As Adam struggles to cope with doubt and anger, cops investigate a recent murder case and tell Adam that they have reasons to believe that his wife was at the scene of the murder. Of course, this doesn’t make any sense to him.
With this Adam finds himself entangled in a mystery as he desperately searches for answers.
‘The Stranger’ streams on Netflix starting Jan 31.
‘The Stranger’ has an ensemble cast including Richard Armitage as Adam and Dervla Kirwan as his wife Corinne. The series co-stars Jennifer Saunders, Shaun Dooley, Paul Kaye, Dervla Kirwan, Anthony Head, and Stephen Rea.
