2016 Film Festival O: Win $13,000 for Best Feature Film

 

Friday, June 24th, 2016 (Chicago) — Film Festival O, a new online ­based international indie film festival, has opened up late submissions to filmmakers for this year’s festival. This year’s entries have a chance to win up to $13,000 for Best Feature Film in Comedy, or Drama.

Film Festival O will feature 70 films from around the world, over 7 days, accessible to viewers anywhere via electronic and mobile devices. Filmmakers will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a global audience and win cash prizes and awards.

A total of $50,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the best indie filmmakers who showcase their work at Film Festival O.

The prizes and awards that will be given out include; $13,000 for Best Feature Film, $4,000 for Best Student Film, $5,000 for Best Short Film, $3,000 for Best Film Shot on Mobile Device, and two Viewers Choice Awards; Most Re­watchable Film, and Best Character Award, which will include mentorship and production assistance package with industry professionals for their next film.

 

Kimberly Huggins, the founder of Film Festival O, says “A great opportunity for filmmakers to make money is by entering international film festivals. We are one of the first to bring our efforts online, breaking down the barrier between filmmakers and film lovers.”

Film Festival O provides filmmakers and viewers access to industry insider information, spectacular films, and talented filmmakers from around the world. Viewers have the added benefit of attending the events without being physically present and contributing to their favorite filmmaker through the new Tip Jar feature.

Film Festival O will take place this year on November 28th to December 4th. In the lead-up to the Festival, more information will be available as the Festival approaches. The late submission deadline is August 10th.
