The Indian Box Office has recorded a promising opening week for filmmaker Jon Favreau’s 3D live-animation adventure fantasy film The Jungle Book with a whopping 74.08 crore collection. The film which is almost running houseful in all metro cities is expected to gain momentum at the weekend.

As expected, the dubbed version in Hindi and some other regional languages account for half of its business. The film has almost caught the interest of every age group considering the popularity of The Jungle Book television series and the popular character Mowgli, which was first aired back in 1993 on Doordarshan.

After Furious 7 (73.06 crores), The Jungle Book so far has the best one-week collection among all other Hollywood releases that have made a mark in India. The other biggies on the list are Avengers – The Age of Ultron (53.75 crores), Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (38.7 crores), and Spectre (36.3 crores).

The reason for The Jungle Book to run successfully for another couple of weeks is the Indian base of Rudyard Kipling’s classic that’s been popular for a long. Again the film brings the whole family together and many who have spent their Sundays watching the TV series in the 90s certainly like to catch the 3D live version to relive their childhood memories.

This further evokes interest for everyone to go and catch the Hindi version.
