Neill Blomkamp’s Chappie movie trailer

Sony Pictures recently tweeted a poster of the upcoming sci-fi comedy Chappie, directed by Neill Blomkamp (Elysium, District 9). Now, the first trailer of the film is out [check below]. The interesting part is its cast led by Hugh Jackman and Dev Patel.

Chappie is the robot created by the character of Dev Patel. Chappie is probably the intelligent robot child with ability of think and feel. But as he is to learn many things, he gets kidnapped by the gang of Hugh Jackman.

I was not too sure about Blomkamp’s Elysium but it did entertain me to some extent [I know many of you did not like the film]. However, I believe Chappie would be more in the line of District 9, considering the drama and a more topic oriented, character driven plot.

Again looking at the trailer, I don’t think this is a comedy. Then some of my friends are also suggesting me some kind of connection with Short Circuit (1986), but I’m not too sure.

Anyways, the film is set to be released in theaters on March 27, 2015. Meanwhile, you must watch the movie trailer:

I am consciousness, I am alive, I am Chappie

Starring:
Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, Ninja and Yo-Landi Visser, Jose Pablo Cantillo, with Sigourney Weaver and Hugh Jackman
Directed by: Neill Blomkamp
