A remake of the 1977 film Suspiria, this upcoming horror film will retell the supernatural horror story involving witches in a boarding school. From the direction of Luca Guadagnino, this is an adaptation of the vision and direction of Dario Argento’s classic.
If we go back to the earlier film, that has become a cult classic, this is going to be one of the creepiest and possibly change the way horror films are made by focusing more on the characters, atmosphere and less on cheap jump scares.
The film follows a young American ballet student Susie Bannion (Dakota Johnson), who soon after enrolling at a renowned dance school run by the mysterious Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton), discovers the dark history of the academy.
Suspiria stars Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper and Chloe Grace Moretz and set for November 2, 2018 release.
Here is the teaser trailer for Suspiria released recently:
The history of witches, witchcraft and occult practice goes back to centuries, so this one hopefully retains the original story but makes it more interesting with modern imagination. We hope this film comes out really well.
The original story in the 1977 film was written by Dario Argento and Daria Nicolodi – which is, in fact, based part on Thomas De Quincey’s essay Suspiria de Profundis (1845).
