John Abraham returns to the big screen with The Diplomat, a gripping political thriller inspired by real events. Directed by Shivam Nair, the film follows an Indian diplomat caught in a high-stakes international crisis.

Synopsis:

When an Indian woman is allegedly forced into marriage in Pakistan, a determined diplomat (played by John Abraham) is tasked with bringing her home. As he navigates political tensions, intelligence agencies, and diplomatic hurdles, he must outsmart the system to complete his mission. But in a world where every move is watched, can he succeed?

As of now, “The Diplomat” is exclusively available in theaters, having been released on March 14, 2025.

Following its theatrical run, the film is scheduled to be available for streaming on Netflix. While an exact digital release date hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s anticipated to arrive on Netflix approximately 60 to 90 days after its theatrical debut, likely between mid-May and early June 2025.

For television viewers, the satellite rights have been acquired by Sony MAX, with a premiere expected later in the year.
