Apple TV+ Premieres New Superhero Origin Series, "Me"

Apple TV+ has added a new and fascinating series to its collection with the release of “Me,” a superhero origin story that promises to engage viewers of all ages. The show, produced by Barry L. Levy, will premiere on Friday, July 12, and is a unique blend of science fiction and coming-of-age drama.

“Me” follows 12-year-old Ben Vasani, played by Lucian-River Chauhan (“Encounter”), a middle school student dealing with the typical challenges of adolescence, such as bullies, crushes, and school dances. However, Ben’s life takes an unexpected turn when he realizes he possesses shape-shifting superpowers. As he navigates his new abilities, Ben must also adjust to life in his new blended family.

Throughout the 10-episode season, Ben embarks on a journey of self-discovery, learning to control his abilities while unraveling the secrets and tragedies that plague his community. His stepsister, Max Davis, played by Abigail Pniowsky (“Arrival”), becomes an ally and confidant, guiding him through the intricacies of his dual identity and the obligations that come with his newfound powers.

The series also stars Dilshad Vadsaria (“Second Chance”) as Elizabeth Vasani, Amanda Reid (“Miss Juneteenth”) as Carter Kennedy, and Jessy Yates (“Pulse”) as Morgan. Guest stars include Kyle Howard (“Orange County”) as Phil Davis and Sharif Atkins (“NCIS: Hawai‘i”) as Darren Kennedy.
