The Trailer for the Netflix drama CURSED is out. The series is based on Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler’s illustrated novel about the tale of King Arthur, written from the point of view of the Nimue (Lady of the Lake).
Set to premiere on Netflix on July 17, the 10-episode series stars Katherine Langford as the young and mysterious Nimue, while Devon Terrell is playing Arthur.
Let us look at the trailer for CURSED
The trailer here looks more like a teaser as it does not reveal much on the storyline. It simply introduces the key character Nimue and shows her as the rightful owner of the Excalibur.
Moreover, the slo-mo action sequences in the trailer are overloaded with music with not much substance. There should have been glimpses of the actual drama to attract our attention. Nevertheless, we would like to learn more about the story in general, and how the epic characters are presented with a cinematic twist.
Nimue in the Arthurian legend and the plotline of CURSED
In the Arthurian legend, Nimue is considered as one of the most impressive characters with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful yet tragic Lady of the Lake. As per the several references in medieval literature, the enchanter Merlin was her master. The Lady of the Lake is primarily known as the protector of the magic sword Excalibur.
In the Netflix series CURSED, the storyline will follow Nimue, who after her mother’s death finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. In her long journey, she will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.
