Alien: Covenant – First Look

So, the first look, which was released earlier, confirms that Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant will feature the Xenomorph creature. According to the most recent update, the release date is now set for May 19, 2017. It was originally scheduled to be released on August 4th, but it has now been pushed back three months.

However, there are a few more updates making the rounds on the internet, one of which is the potential James Franco character. AvPGalaxy, a fan website, revealed (exclusively) that Franco will appear in Alien: Covenant. They even revealed his character as Branson, the Covenant’s captain and the husband of Katherine Waterson’s character Daniels.

‘Alien: Covenant’ Movie Trailer

According to AvPGalaxy, Franco’s role as Branson will be brief, appearing only in the first 10 minutes of the film. Noomi Rapace will reprise her role as archaeologist Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in Covenant, as will actors Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, and Guy Pearce (probably in some flashbacks). Michael Fassbender will return as the android David.

Nonetheless, it is now clear that Alien: Covenant is a sequel to Prometheus, not a prequel. This is the second installment in the Alien prequel series and the sixth in the Alien film series.

Given Ridley Scott’s attention to detail, we can simply sit back and wait for the film to be released. With so much hype and anticipation surrounding everything, let us just hope for another great Scott film in the mold of his best: AlienBlade Runner, and The Martian!
