It’s an incredible feeling as I write this post. The 41-year-old actor won his first-ever Oscar after being nominated six times before. Certainly, as mentioned in the above tweet, ‘Leonardo DiCaprio is living proof that your dreams will eventually come true. Never give up. Ever.’

As soon as the name of Leonardo is announced, he got loud cheering and a standing ovation from the attendees. During his speech, Leonardo thanked director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, the cast and crew (specifically Tom Hardy), his family, frequent collaborator Martin Scorsese, and more, before taking time to talk about the cause close to his heart – climate change.
“Climate change is real, it is happening right now, it is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world… whos speak for all of humanity.”
This time, as usual in every other Oscars, there were four other best performances to compete with Leonardo Dicaprio, including Bryan Cranston for ‘Trumbo’, Matt Damon for ‘The Martian’, Michael Fassbender for ‘Steve Jobs’, and Eddie Redmayne for ‘The Danish Girl’.
