Streaming giant Netflix has recently dropped the first full trailer of its new Norwegian series ‘Ragnarok.’ Straight from the Norse mythology, the series is a coming-of-age drama promising few twists to the traditional tale. Let’s not confuse this with Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok.
The storyline is set in a small, fictitious Norwegian town of Edda, surrounded by magnificent natural beauty. But the world there is rapidly changing as the town is poisoned by pollution, warm winters, violent downpours, and rattled by melting glaciers.
For all these, there is a reason; Edda has its history – as it was the site for the final clash between gods and giants. The town is heading towards “Ragnarok”, an apocalypse, unless someone with superpower battles the evil and save the world from complete destruction.

In Norse mythology, “Ragnarok” is described as ‘the end of days’, ‘the battle at the end of the world’, ‘fate of the gods’ or the ‘doom of the gods.’
The six-part Norwegian language series is written by award-winning writer Adam Price (Ride Upon The Storm, Borgen) and is slated to be released on Netflix worldwide on January 31, 2020.
