“No Tears in Hell” Explores the True Story of Russia’s Siberian Ripper

Scatena & Rosner Films announces the release of No Tears in Hell, a haunting serial killer horror film based on true events. Directed and co-written by Michael Caissie, this film is slated to be released on VOD platforms on August 12, 2025.

Synopsis

Set in the frozen darkness of an Alaskan winter, No Tears in Hell follows a mother and son who turn their home into a house of nightmares, luring victims into a twisted web of abuse and cannibalism. The plot is based on the true story of Alexander Spesivtsev, the notorious Russian serial killer known as “The Siberian Ripper,” whose heinous crimes in the early 90s earned him the nickname the Siberian Ripper.

Watch the Trailer

Luke Baines (Shadowhunters, A Dark Place) delivers a chilling performance as Spesivtsev, portraying the killer with ruthless authenticity. The late Gwen Van Dam (Star Trek: Generations) stars as his controlling, complicit mother. The cast also includes Tatjana Marjanovic, Audrey Neal, Gabriella Westwood, and Erik Fellows.

Director Michael Caissie reflects on the emotionally taxing experience:

“From writing the script-to physical production, and to ultimately seeing the finished film, it really was an emotional rollercoaster for everyone. From having to take emotional breaks from the writing, to witnessing cast, crew and even myself crying at the monitor because it was so intense, I knew I was making something important, and I’m really excited for audiences in North American, and all over the world to see this unforgettable film.”
