Directed by Kentaro Takemura, Our Secret Diary (Original Title: 交換ウソ日記) is a sweet and tangled love story currently being screened at the Japanese Film Festival in Australia from October 13th to 27th, 2024.
Synopsis
Our Secret Diary follows Nozomi Kuroda, a shy high school student who finds a love letter on her desk from Jun Setoyama, the most popular kid at school. She responds, feeling flattered and inquisitive, and the two begin a secret diary correspondence. But there’s a catch: Nozomi quickly realizes that the letter was intended for her best friend, Erino. With her heart slowly falling for Jun, Nozomi is stuck in a web of misunderstandings and unspoken feelings.
Starring Fumiya Takahashi and Hiyori Sakurada, the film beautifully captures the innocence and confusion of teenage love and friendship. Director Kentaro Takemura brings this heartwarming story to life as pictured in the best-selling novel by Sakura Iiyo.
