Downey as ‘Dolittle’ in the Upcoming Fantasy Adventure (Trailer)

Dolittle Movie Trailer

Robert Downey Jr. plays the classic character Dr. John Dolittle – created by Hugh Lofting for the children’s book The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle – in the upcoming fantasy comedy adventure “Dolittle”. The film, directed by Stephen Gaghan, is releasing on January 17, 2020.

This seems to be an exciting project for the Marvel hero (Tony Stark/Iron Man) where he plays an entertaining vet with the ability to speak to animals. While fans of Robert Downey Jr. are saddened with the emotional ending of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ the actor has marked his return with this fantasy project that will excite children and adults alike.

Let’s watch the trailer of ‘Dolittle’

The official synopsis of the film goes here:

After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley, Wild Rose) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island to find a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.

In this voyage, Dr. Dolittle is accompanied by a young, self-appointed apprentice and a bunch of his animal friends, including an anxious gorilla, an enthusiastic but bird-brained duck, a bickering duo of a cynical ostrich and an upbeat polar bear and a headstrong parrot, who serves as Dolittle’s most trusted advisor and confidante.

Besides Downey, the film’s “human” cast includes Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, and Jim Broadbent, while voices for the animal characters are given by Tom Holland, Selena Gomez, Ralph Fiennes, Rami Malek, Kumail Nanjiani, Emma Thompson, Octavia Spencer, and John Cena.
