Directed by Canadian filmmaker Trevor Jimenez, who is also working in Pixar, Weekends follows a young boy who shuffles between the homes of his recently divorced parents.

Set the 1980’s Toronto, the film is a hand-drawn animated film. The film is animated and presented in such a way that it brings out emotions and the reality of a broken family.

For now, you might want to watch the movie trailer for Weekends on Vimeo. The trailer shows a few glimpses of some amazing piece of storytelling. This looks really fascinating and intriguing.

Weekends have so far won many awards, including the Jury Award and the Audience Award at the 42nd Annecy International Animation Film Festival (2018).

The film is now being screened in various international film festivals and as of now, no date has been announced for its online release.
