Half to Death (2017) – Blumhouse Film – Later Titled ‘Happy Death Day’

UPDATE: The film “Half to Death” was later titled “Happy Death Day” that was released back on October 13, 2017. Please refer to the post “Happy Death Day (2017) – Movie Review” for the latest updates on the film.

“Half to Death” (‘Happy Death Day’) is said to be another promising addition to the list of Blumhouse horror films. Reportedly, the makers have pushed back “Insidious: Chapter 4” for the next year while this film directed by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) will be released on October 13, 2017.

The film follows a college student (Jessica Rothe, La La Land) who must relive the same day over and over again until she figures out who is trying to kill her and why.

The concept of the film looks interesting, even though we don’t have enough information to visualize the whole storyline. However, horror movie fans should expect the surprise and scary elements going by the earlier films of Blumhouse productions.

The director of “Half to Death Landon has previously collaborated with the production house for the “Paranormal Activity” franchise while this time he has also co-written the script along with Scott Lobdell. Earlier Landon has also written the script for “Disturbia” (2007) and the three Paranormal Activity films. The last film he had directed is the 2015 film “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse”.
