ASSASSIN’S CREED Opens in Cinemas on Dec 26th

Last week we got to watch the first trailer of much anticipated film adaptation of video game ASSASSIN’S CREED trailer that looks impressive with Michael Fassbender in action. As we may think of its success considering most of the game turned movies, except “Resident Evil”, have not been that great in theatrical execution, we can still hope for some real action with an original storyline that is an extension to its video game mythology.

Watch the trailer for the movie Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, which hits theaters December 21st.

The video game series started back in 2007 not only focuses on characters and stories from the past, from Crusades-era Holy Land to the dawn of the American revolution, but also ties in with present day . In the gaming world, Assassin’s Creed shows the conflict between two ancient secret societies: “the Assassins” who fight for peace with free will, and the evil “Templars”, who desire peace through control.

The movie doesn’t follow the exact storyline of the gaming world. While Desmond Miles is the main character in the Assassin’s Creed game, it is Callum Lynch – a modern day descendant of the 15th century Spanish Assassin Aguilar de Nerha. However, the film has retained the same set up where a futuristic company sends the lead character back through time through his ancestral DNA to gain knowledge and skill in order to fight the oppressive and powerful Templar organisation in the present day.

Official Synopsis:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organisation in the present day.

Directed by Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, Macbeth), ASSASSIN’S CREED stars Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 12 Years a Slave) and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, La Vie en Rose).
