Looking at the number and the kind of movies that are being released this year, 2015 is surely going to be one of the finest years for cinema. While 2014 will be cherished for many films such as Boyhood, Interstellar, The Hobbit, The Babadook, Whiplash, and Exodus among others; we here wanted to list out a few most-awaited movies or must-watch movies of 2015. The movies listed below have already created a buzz in the cinema world with their trailers released earlier.

Selma (January 9, 2015)

The historical drama film Selma is the story of a movement led by American civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr. The film chronicles the tumultuous three-month period in 1965 when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition. The epic march from Selma, Alabama, to Montgomery culminated in President Johnson (Tom Wilkinson) signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most significant victories for the civil rights movement. Director Ava DuVernay’s Selma tells the real story of how the revered leader and visionary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (David Oyelowo) and his brothers and sisters in the movement prompted change that forever altered history. 


Kingsman: The Secret Service (February 13, 2015)

Based upon the acclaimed comic book (by Mark Millar & Dave Gibbons), Kingsman: The Secret Service is directed by Matthew Vaughn of Kick Ass and X-Men First Class fame. It tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius. Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton, and Samuel L. Jackson play some of the prominent characters in the film.

Chappie (March 6, 2015)

Starring Hugh Jackman, Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, and Sigourney Weaver, Chappie is director Neill Blomkamp’s third film. The film is an upcoming sci-fi comedy that tells the story of an intelligent robot with the ability to think and feel. Here is the official synopsis: Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, and a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there’s one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever.


Furious 7 (April 3, 2015)

Yes, it’s from the franchise Fast & Furious. The official Facebook page still shows an image of deceased Paul Walker along with the film’s cast Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ludacris with the tagline: “We’re going to do what we do best.” The film series in its seventh installment will surely entertain its followers with high-end action sequences as the franchise has been successfully delivering since 2001. Furious 7 is written by Chris Morgan and directed by James Wan. The film also marks the final screen appearance of Paul Walker who died on November 30, 2013, in a tragic car accident, following which the script has been changed, and his brother Cody and Caleb Walker completed the remaining scenes.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1, 2015)

With its new production, the popular Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the sequel to 2012’s The Avengers. To date, this is regarded as one of the popular Super Hero movies with an ensemble appearance of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. In this movie, the Earth’s mightiest must unite to battle a new antagonist Ultron who is bent on human extinction.

Mad Max: Fury Road (May 15, 2015)

Director George Miller returns to the world of road warriors with Mad Max: Fury Road, the new addition to the Mad Max franchise. The production value and popularity of his creation can be linked back to 1979 when the first film of the series was released. The new film in the series subtitled Road Warrior stars Tom Hardy as Mad Max and Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa. They both meet in the desert as they try to escape a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (played by Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
