Interstellar – An Epic of Its Kind

Interstellar – An Epic of Its Kind

Interstellar is an outstanding film not just because it has great ideas, but the fact that its director Christopher Nolan takes us for a ride with endless imagination and one of its kind cinematic experience.

With a mixture of so many things: science, physics, drama, intense action, plot twists, the movie is indeed an epic. I don’t think in its near 3-hour long run time, there is ever a dull moment to take you away from that futuristic sense.

For the greater good of humankind, Cooper now has to leave his family: his two teenage children, Tom and Murph, as well as an aging father-in-law. With high-minded scientific theories and philosophical ideas, Interstellar also depicts the love between a father and his daughter.

As the story moves, Cooper and his crew, including Brand’s daughter Amelia (Anne Hathaway) have to retrace the whereabouts of the flights of three astronauts, who were earlier sent to planets believe to be capable of sustaining human life. Are the astronauts alive? Is there still any chance to find a planet that can sustain human life? If so, is there any possibility that the remaining human population can be moved through the black hole? And what’s about altered space-time? To get the answer to all these questions, you must watch Interstellar which offers an impressive tale with astonishing visuals.

While we all admire the ideas and cinematic vision behind Nolan’s earlier films such as MementoInception, the superhero Batman film series, or even the other more intriguing drama The Prestige, we can certainly see Interstellar as Nolan’s finest so far.

Not only the film Interstellar has very dramatic and scientific ideas in play, but the fact that his idea of traveling through the wormhole with altered space-time is very well backed by scientific theories of Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, and Kip Thorne.
