The Conjuring (2013) – All in Terror and Horror

The Conjuring (2013)

Last night I was forced to watch the film “The Conjuring” by a friend who is very much interested in exploring the kind of horror elements used in the movie. Well for me, as a big time horror movie fan I was only expecting this one as yet another ghostly occurrence or haunted house story. But what I found was indeed exciting and can be listed as one of the best in the horror genre.

So, here it is: “The conjuring” tells the story of paranormal investigator couple Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are known for their works against the presence of dark forces in the lives of people they meet. They were once called by a couple Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor, who were experience strange occurrences in their new apartment which they owned in an auction few days back.

Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most horrifying case of their lives. What follows thereafter is all to watch with few but extremely terrifying visuals in a confrontation of human’s faith on God and devils attempt to possess the spirit of human.

Based on the true case files of the Warrens, and directed by the acclaimed director James Wan (Saw and Insidious), this is probably one of the scariest horror films of recent times. Set in the 1970s, “The Conjuring” indeed spells out the feelings of those traditional old school horror films and that is very much effective in delivering horror as you watch.
