Drive Angry (2011) – Another Usual Nicholas Cage Flick

Drive Angry (2011) – another usual Nicholas Cage flick

Directed by Patrick Lussier, Drive Angry is a stylish action movie similar to Ghost Rider that doesn’t spend much of your time before taking you on an action-packed trip filled with guns, gore, and unrelenting violence.

Drive Angry talks about Milton (Nicholas Cage), a dead man who breaks out of Hell to prevent the Earth from the forces of darkness. Milton has to prevent a cult, which cruelly murdered his daughter, from sacrificing his infant granddaughter to Satan on the night of the full moon.

With just days to go before the ritual killing, Milton takes the help of Piper (Amber Heard) – a spunky and sexy waitress – in order to reach the psychopathic cult leader named Jonah King (Billy Burke) who is responsible for killing his daughter.

The Hell Keeper has despatched his henchman The Accountant (William Fichtner) to get Milton, thus there is more to the tale. To save the child, Milton must confront both the obstructionists.

The funniest thing you will see here is that Cage is not acting anymore, he is just trying to be stylish and doing much of showing up to cheer up the moviegoers. He has done it successfully though.

The best character indeed is The Accountant. William Fichtner has done it again with a gifted and entertaining performance. With his near-skeletal facial structure, he is apt for this role.

Lastly, Drive Angry has nothing more to offer than just some fast-paced action sequences. It is a ridiculously over-the-top yet wildly enjoyable thrill ride!
